National Association of Research and Development for Manual Osteopathy, Calgary AB, Canada, is a national professional association with members across North America, which promotes the highest standards of ethics and patient care in European style osteopathy, contributing to the health and well-being of millions of osteopathy patients. On behalf of its members, NARDMO lobbies for pro-osteopathy legislation and policies, promotes a positive public image of manual osteopathy, supports research, protects the public, and offers leadership for the advancement of the manual osteopathy profession. NARDMO issues certificates of registration & license numbers to manual osteopaths who are graduated from recognized manual osteopathic schools. NARDMO members are permitted to practice manual osteopathy in most countries. Manual Osteopaths registered with NARDMO adhere to the code of ethics and professional guidelines set up by NARDMO .
Mission
NARDMO mission is to preserve, protect, improve and promote the manual osteopathy profession and the services of manual osteopaths for the benefit of patients they serve. The purpose of the NARDMO is to provide leadership in health care and a positive vision for the manual osteopathy profession and its natural approach to health and wellness.
Objective
NARDMO has the following objectives:
To develop, establish and maintain standards of qualification for persons to be issued domestic or international certificates of registration to practice manual osteopathy.
Code of Ethics
This Code of Ethics is based upon the acknowledgement that the social contract dictates the manual osteopathy profession’s responsibilities to the patient, the public, and the profession; and upholds the fundamental principle that the paramount purpose of the manual osteopath’s professional services shall be to benefit the patient.
